Bikash Subedi (born Nov 01, 1986) is a Nepalese filmmaker and screenwriter whose work is shaped by his survival of the Nepalese Civil War, driving a strong commitment to human rights and artistic expression. After spending two decades as a leading screenwriter in Nepal, writing acclaimed films such as Prakash and Pujar Sarki, he expanded into directing to achieve greater artistic and technical control over his visual storytelling. Embracing international co-productions and collaborating with global technical talent, Subedi developed his directorial debut, Shirjara: Song of Grandmother, which draws directly on a three-year solo anthropological journey on foot across Nepal.
